Should
I work exclusively with one Recruiter? |
 |
What is most important is that you work with
a Recruiter whom you trust. It is important that there be
a clear understanding be established between you and the Recruiter
on what companies you have approached on your own and which
ones they will contact.
|
 |
What
information does a Recruiter initially need? |
 |
The basic information would be: 1) your resume
2) current compensation level (base salary, bonus, commission,
etc.) 3) Relocation - will you, if so, where? 4) Travel -
will you, if so, how often?
|
 |
How often should
I contact my Recruiter? |
 |
The best way to determine this is to ask the
Recruiter. Each person has there own preference. Normally,
a Recruiter will contact you if they are working on a Search
Assignment that appears to be a good fit. Once the interview
process begins it is very important that you update the Recruiter
every time you have spoken with someone from the prospective
company or after an interview.
|
 |
Should I send my
information directly into a company? |
|
If you know a specific person in the company
who has the authority to present your credentials and obtain
a response then that is fine. However, unless the person has
the clout within the company, a resume can sit idly and then
become lost. Recruiters are highly motivated to move the process
along to reach closure. Whether its good news or bad news,
the Recruiter wants an answer.
|
 |
What does it cost
me to work with a recruiter? |
 |
There is never a fee for candidates. The "cost"
to a candidate, however, needs explanation. Without exception,
our search process necessitates a relationship between recruiter
and candidate based on honesty, trust and cooperation. Candidates
must be willing to invest in the process for it to have a
successful outcome. "Investing" means making time
to interview, preparing for interviews (doing your homework),
being honest with your feelings and opinions and keeping your
Recruiter updated on your other job leads. Our goal is to
ensure both candidate and employer win.
|
 |
Will my information
be used without my knowledge? |
 |
Our firm's policy is that a Candidates' credentials
will not leave our office without their prior knowledge and
consent.
|
 |
What about confidentiality?
I don't want anyone at my present company to know I am looking.
|
 |
Our database is proprietary and is not accessible
through common web spidering technology. Candidates can profile
themselves and that information is entered directly into our
database for use only by the Recruiters onsite with our firm.
|
 |
What steps do I take
to begin a relationship with a Recruiter? |
 |
To begin a relationship, we instruct candidates
to first review our current "Search our Jobs" listing.
Once they identify a position that they are qualified for
and have interest in, we ask them to submit their contact
information and resume via our "Submit your Resume"
link.
|
 |
How often can I expect
to hear from a recruiter once I send my information? |
 |
The nature of our business dictates that we must talk to,
and network with, large numbers of people to identify the
proper number of qualified, motivated candidates ready to
accept a new position. Often, we cannot touch base with every
candidate submitting their information. Our firm utilizes
email frequently to stay in touch with our network of candidates.
We urge our candidates to stay in touch with their Recruiter
in the same fashion and continue to visit our web site on
a regular basis.
